ADULT DISCIPLESHIP -

The two core elements of Adult Discipleship at Holy Trinity are our Sunday morning services and our Life Groups. We believe that discipleship happens in community. The Church Gathered for worship is one essential community context for our growth and formation as followers of Jesus. In addition, our life groups offer a more intimate context, where we can do life together and can be known in deeper ways that enhance our love of God and our love of others and promote self-awareness, integrity and accountability.

In addition, we provide a variety of classes and workshops on topics that add to our learning and practice as Christians. For example, in October 2023, we will be offering a three-session adult class on Praying for One Another and with the Church. One session will center on Rick Richardson's Experiencing Healing Prayer, and the other two on the Book of Common Prayer. All will include practical elements. This class will meet between services on Sunday mornings, specifically October 1, 8 and 15. Then in November 2023, we will offer a class on Discipleship through Music, Singing and Worship. This class will also be held between services on November 5, 12 and 19.

We have a number of additional classes planned after the new year, so stay tuned! Some will be offered in person, and for convenience, others may be offered online. For more information about our Adult Discipleship offerings, please contact the Church Office or contact Deacon Mark Summers.

middle school and HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH - sundays

The Middle School and High School Discipleship class meets on Sundays, after the second morning service, from Noon to 1:30 PM in the Church Fellowship Hall. We are blessed with a gifted team of teachers who will be leading the class: Kevin Brooks, Heather Peterson, Krysta Smart and Pastor Matt Burnett. The team and the students will be using THE THREAD: "Discovering the Thread of the Gospel Through the Big-Picture Story of the Bible."  Lessons this fall begin with Creation and will march through the Old Testament from Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, and Moses up to Joshua.  The entire time we'll be "seeing the Gospel in all of scripture."

little women society

The LWS is a fellowship group for girls, grades 5 to 12, and their moms.

children’s catechesis - Sundays

Holy Trinity seeks to support and disciple children and their families through catechesis. Catechesis is offered during the sermon and prayers of the people portion of the second service and runs about 40 min. Children begin and end worship in the service with their families.

LEVEL 1

Level 1 serves children in preschool and kindergarten. Our vision is create an environment that enables young children to encounter God through his Word. Within the framework of family morning prayer, we watch and listen to God's story unfold. We respond with wondering questions, reading from Scripture, responsive prayer, art work, and by retelling the story using the story materials. The key posture for this level is worship as wonder. To help us tell God's stories, we are using Young Children and Worship by Sonja M. Stewart and Jerome W. Berryman.

LEVEL 2

Level 2 serves children in grade 1-3. Our vision is to create an environment where children learn to articulate their encounter with God in his Word through conversation. All conversation is enfolded within a brief liturgical framework centered on the reading and memorizing of Scripture. To help guide our conversation, we are using conversation pages developed by Picture the Bible which engage learners and leaders using a variety of ideas, images, questions, information and background. By considering Scripture together, we aim to understand how Bible stories inform our lives, shape our worldview and articulate what it means to be a faithful disciple. The key posture in level 2 is worship as conversation.

NOTE: We typically take a break from our Sunday Children’s Catechesis classes for the Summer. The regular class schedule resumes on September 10, 2023.
